At Chirpy Chicks we provide a warm, welcoming, home from home setting. We offer childcare based both on years of experience and the adoption of newer, modern ideas.
We are soon to be a Curiosity approach accredited setting and we take inspiration from Reggio, Steiner, Te Whariki and a sprinkle of Montessori. Our ethos is to spark our little ones’ curiosity by providing durable authentic resources. Our open-ended, eclectic collection of resources encourages imagination, helping to create the ‘thinkers and doers’ of the future. Chirpy HQ is filled with beautiful, authentic, quality treasures rescued from car boots and charity shops; items that offer the children in our care daily opportunities to handle different materials and explore different aspects of the world around them. This creates a lovely, calm and tranquil place for the little ones to become actively engaged.
By recycling and re-purposing these unique resources, we are doing our small bit for the environment; preventing these beautiful treasures from ending up in a landfill.
Nature is our second and favourite class room. Rain or shine we embrace what ever she throws at us. “There is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing” — A very wise Scandinavian saying. The Chirpies are encouraged to take time to explore the world around us at a local, national and even global level. Sometimes our horizons even leave Earth itself! Senses of balance, touch and well-being are all nurtured by being present in our magical out door classroom adventure environments.
